Our Secondary Four science students visited InnoTech Expo 2016 on 26th September, 2016 and participated in the popular talk “Mercury Testing Technology using Fish Embryos”. During the event, students talked with Professor Tsui Lap-Chee.
Ten of our S6 students participated in the analytical chemistry workshop organized by the Faculty of Science at HKU on 20th October, 2016. Apart from the talk, “Lead in Drinking Water”, which heightened the students’ awareness of water safety, the workshop also provided an opportunity for students to participate in experiments. After the workshop, their knowledge of Chemistry was significantly enriched.
A study tour to Vancouver was held this summer for 16 days in August. Apart from interactive English lessons at Bodwell High School, students participated in a wide variety of activities which included canoeing, picking blueberries, visiting the glaciers at Whistler, and many other memorable adventures. The students with the homestay volunteers also watched an international firework contest, took part in a pride parade, visited The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge and shopped for souvenirs at Gas Town. The tour ended with the students having their greater confidence in their spoken English and increasing independence.
Our Secondary One to Four students visited the Shatin Sewage Treatment Works and The Nam Sang Wai River Education Trail on 17th September, 2016. This was to enhance the public awareness of conservation in Hong Kong.
