STEM: School Supervisor Ir. Dr. Alan Lam shared about Research-based Education

Our School Supervisor, Ir. Dr. Alan Lam participated in the staff development session of Science, Technology and Mathematics Key Learning Areas (KLAs) to share about Research-based Education on 19th November 2018. Our Science KLA teachers, Mr. Yip Chong Kuen (Physics), Miss Chan Shuk Yi (Chemistry) and Dr. Lam, Tat Ho (Vice Principal, Biology) shared the arrangement of Junior Science Final Year Project at S3 level.

Proposal of Policies Studies on Land Supply in Hong Kong by Geography and IH Society

Students of our school’s Geography Society and IH Society conducted a study of Land Supply in Hong Kong last July and August. A proposal was drafted and submitted to the government with opinions on land supply strategies and a prioritisation of different land supply options.

Life Planning Programme-Arts Industry Exploration

To understand more about jobs related to the arts, our school participated in Life Planning Programme-Arts Industry Exploration which was organized by Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADA) and West Kowloon Cultural District Authority in July 2018. We were also honored to have invited the sand artist, Miss Chiu Wai Chi and the local artist, Miss Peggy Chan Pui Leng to come to visit our school for a talk about the arts Industry. They shared their experience of being an artist. Our senior students studying the Visual Arts elective visited the exhibition at M+ Pavilion named ‘In Search of Southeast Asia through the M+ Collections’ and “Art in Hospital” at 1A SPACE on 12th July. They had enriched their knowledge of different forms of artworks and life planning about the Arts Industry.

CCH Students Enjoy Choir Concert by CU Chorus

All S. 4 students and members of school choir enjoyed a the choir concert “Bernstein in the theater: Bernstein Centennial Celebration Concert” in Hong Kong City Hall on 17th June, 2018, which was presented by CU Chorus. They enjoyed the marvelous performance which included singing great works composed by Leonard Bernstein, including “The Lark” and “Trouble in Tahiti”. CU Chorus had also arranged a pre-concert guided talk to CCH students about the different manners of attending a concert. Students really enjoyed this valuable learning experience that has broadened their horizons to different musical genres.
